Full plot (contains spoilers)
Four magicians known as 'The Four Horsemen' perform a heist in Paris, and are subsequently pursued by FBI agent Dylan Rhodes and Interpol detective Alma Dray. With the help of Thaddeus Bradley, a former magician-turned-debunker, the authorities track the Horsemen through various performances in New Orleans and New York. The Horsemen are revealed to be part of a secret group called 'the Eye' that steals from the powerful to aid the vulnerable. The plot culminates in a final confrontation at 5 Pointz, where the Horsemen disappear in a flurry of counterfeit money while the real money is hidden in Thaddeus's car. It is revealed that Dylan is the son of a magician whose career was ruined by Thaddeus and whose death was caused by a faulty safe. Dylan orchestrated the heists as revenge for his father's death, and he eventually joins the Eye.
