A new sheriff investigates an old murder and the killing of witnesses in a town where might has long made right.
The story
Oklahoma John arrives as the new sheriff in a Western town where the previous authorities’ incompetence has left the laws unenforced and might prevailing. He discovers that the town’s troubles trace back many years to the murder of Giorgiana’s father. The reason for the killing remains unknown, and witnesses who might clarify the case are themselves being killed. As John begins investigating, he must pursue the suspected perpetrators and uncover what lies behind the old crime.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Oklahoma John, a new sheriff, arrives in a Western town where, because of the incompetence of the previous authorities, the laws are not enforced and might makes right. John discovers that it all began with the murder, many years earlier, of Giorgiana’s father. The reason for his death is still unknown: witnesses, in fact, are being killed. After a lengthy investigation involving the suspected perpetrators, the sheriff finally manages to discover that the crimes were committed over the oil beneath the land owned by the girl. Those responsible have been exposed, and justice returns to its normal course.
