The Olsen Gang targets a Danish World Bank branch where black money is being laundered as part of a scheme involving the EU’s butter surplus.

The story

At Egon’s return to Vridsløse, the Olsen Gang’s welcoming committee includes Georg, a modern thief with expertise in electronics and computers. The gang uncovers a scheme by fixer Hallansen and corrupt politician Holm-Hansen to use black money to buy and resell the EU’s butter surplus to Russia. The money is sent for laundering at the nearly impregnable Danish branch of the World Bank, making it a tempting target. The gang faces domestic distractions as Yvonne works toward her driver’s license and Kjeld takes on more household chores, while Detective Superintendent Jensen and his assistant inadvertently leave the gang free to operate.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Egon’s traditional welcoming committee at Vridsløse is joined this time by Georg (Claus Ryskjær). He is a modern thief who knows his way around electronics and computers, but in the end it is the old-fashioned criminal virtues that get results. The Olsen Gang discovers that the big-time fixer Hallansen, in collusion with a corrupt politician, Holm-Hansen, plans to use black money to buy up and resell the EU’s butter surplus to Russia. The money has been deposited and sent to be laundered at the virtually impregnable Danish branch of the World Bank. Just the job for the trio, though they are considerably hampered by Yvonne’s efforts to get her driver’s license and Kjeld’s increased share of the household chores. Detective Superintendent Jensen (Axel Strøbye) and his assistant (Dick Kaysø) unwittingly ensure that the Olsen Gang can work in peace.
