Fed up with selling unwanted books door to door in Paris, Thomas heads to Ibiza to try working as a holiday-club entertainer.
The story
Thomas, nicknamed Cri-Cri, is tired of his monotonous job selling unwanted books door to door in Paris for his boss, Monsieur Alfred Gomez. When a friend is due to fly to Ibiza to work as an entertainer, Thomas decides to go along and try the same job. He soon makes numerous contacts among the women at the holiday club, where the pool becomes a lively gathering place. His holiday is unsettled when his former boss—whom he bluntly confronted as he quit—arrives with his wife and daughter, Eva.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Thomas, nicknamed “Cri-Cri,” has had enough of his monotonous job. Day after day, he has to ring Parisian doorbells and go from door to door, trying to sell books nobody wants on behalf of his boss, Monsieur Alfred Gomez. At most, the occasional sexually eager housewife drags him inside. Through a friend who is flying to Ibiza the next day to work there as an entertainer, he agrees to go along and try his hand at the same job. Before long, he has made numerous contacts among the women at the holiday club, and the swimming pool is an ideal hunting ground for him and various other hormone-fuelled men. The fun is suddenly in danger of being cut short when Cri-Cri’s former boss—whom he had bluntly told exactly what he thought as he quit—arrives in the holiday paradise with his wife and their pretty daughter Eva. Other holidaymakers add to the confusion: for example, there is the son of old womanizer Norbert, who reads nothing but science-fiction novels, while Norbert is determined to get him interested in the lovely topless girls; or the shy German, Hans Kulpa, who is accidentally assigned the same apartment as a pretty, blonde young woman named Claude. Naturally, the obligatory over-the-top gay man for this kind of film (in this case with a shaggy mane), who chases handsome young men and regularly strikes out, is also there. While Thomas tries to get petty revenge on his former boss, Monsieur Gomez, he falls in love with Gomez’s pretty daughter, Eva. Meanwhile, her parents merrily swap partners. But in the end, everything works out: Cri-Cri gets his Eva and, to top it off, an extra week by her side in Ibiza.
