Osada havranu (1978)

The main character, from the Stone Age, is a little boy whom a young hunter named Falcon pulls from a swollen river. The hunters nearly kill him, but a sacred sign saves him when a raven feather drifts down onto him. The Raven clan accepts the boy as one of their own and names him Raven Feather. Falcon protects him, raises him to be a brave hunter and warrior, and teaches him to shoot a bow and hunt small game. When the men go hunting, Raven Feather is given the task of guarding the women. One day, while the men are away hunting wild boar, the village is raided. The bandits knock Raven Feather unconscious, steal a cow, and abduct a girl named Squirrel. Falcon rushes to help, and together with Raven Feather he catches up with the bandits, frees Squirrel, recovers the stolen goods, and, with the hunters he has summoned, drives the bandits away. A harsh winter comes, and the Raven clan suffers from hunger. Raven Feather catches Wildman stealing grain meant for the next sowing. But Wildman blames the theft on the boy, and Raven Feather is banished from the settlement as punishment. Squirrel then discovers that Wildman is the real thief, because he and his wife had been baking flatbreads with the grain. So Wildman and Twirler have to leave the settlement instead. The clan eventually makes it through the winter; spring and summer come, and Raven Feather goes hunting with Falcon again. Raven Feather manages to kill a stag, and is thereby accepted among the men and hunters of the clan.
