An alternate prequel to the classic tale of Peter Pan explores the origins of the boy who wouldn't grow up and his legendary adversary, Captain Hook.

The story

In a world where the line between reality and myth is blurred, a young boy named Peter is left at a London orphanage with a mysterious pendant. During World War II, Peter and his friend Nibs are caught in a dangerous situation involving the orphanage's keeper, Mother Barnabas. After being kidnapped by pirates and taken to the mystical land of Neverland, Peter finds himself in a world of pirates, fairies, and ancient secrets. To find his way home and uncover the truth about his mother, he must navigate the dangers of the pirate fleet and the mysteries of the Fairy Kingdom while facing the formidable pirate Blackbeard.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Newborn Peter is left at a London orphanage with a pendant from his mother, Mary. During WWII, Peter and his friend Nibs are caught stealing food from the abusive Mother Barnabas. She summons pirates to kidnap them, taking them to Neverland. There, they are forced to mine Pixum, a substance used by the pirate Blackbeard to stop his aging. Peter meets James Hook and, after being cast into a mine, learns of a prophecy regarding a flying boy who could defeat Blackbeard. Peter and Hook escape into the woods, where they are found by Tiger Lily. Through the Memory Tree, Tiger Lily reveals that Peter is half-fairy and can fly if he has faith. After a battle where Blackbeard reveals he killed Mary, Peter, Hook, and Tiger Lily seek help from the Fairy Kingdom. They are attacked by a crocodile and later by Blackbeard, who attempts to use the fairies' Pixum to live forever. In the final confrontation, Peter overcomes his fear to fly and save Hook, while Tiger Lily duels Blackbeard. The pirates are defeated, and Peter is confirmed as Neverland's savior. The film ends with Peter, Hook, and Tiger Lily returning to London to rescue the other orphans, who become the Lost Boys.
