The story
Vincent babysits Bart, a young boy whose mother asks him to attend a parents’ meeting at the start of the school year at Bart’s new school. A misunderstanding leads the other parents to believe Vincent is Bart’s father. Bart is pleased by the deception because he is distressed that he has never known his father. As Vincent becomes part of the parent community, he finds it increasingly difficult to correct the mistake, particularly after he falls in love with Nora, the young teacher he is taken to be the father of one of her pupils.

Vincent (Vincent Dedienne) is the babysitter of a young boy named Bart. When Bart’s mother receives an invitation to a parents’ meeting at the start of the school year at a new school, she asks Vincent to go in her place. Because of a misunderstanding, Vincent ends up being taken for the boy’s father. Bart is happy with the lie that takes hold, because he is distressed that he has never known his father. Vincent becomes part of the community of parents and gets more and more involved, unable to reveal the deception—especially since he secretly falls in love with Nora (Camélia Jordana), the young teacher of his supposed son.
