Pommes essen (2012)

Patty wants to become a star chef, but she keeps having to help out at her mother’s fries stand. Business is poor, even though her mother, Frieda, inherited a legendary currywurst sauce recipe from her father, Grandpa Frey. When Frieda collapses from overwork and goes away for a health retreat, Patty has to keep the family business running with her younger sisters, Selma and Lilo. But when an opportunity comes up for her to do an internship with a Michelin-starred chef, the work falls to her sisters, who accidentally set the fries stand on fire. To save the family business, the sisters enter a competition run by MSV Duisburg, which is looking for a new operator for its stadium catering. Frieda’s brother, Uncle Walther, also enters the competition. He runs a chain of fries stands in the Ruhr region, but does not know his father’s secret recipe. Outside the MSV stadium, shortly before the next home game, the fans vote between Walther’s Pommes King and the Frey sisters’ stand.
