His son Peter also becomes part of the romantic entanglements when he falls for Piri, complicating the coach’s effort to keep the team on task.

Among them are many teenagers who are very curious about the opposite sex behind the Iron Curtain and are looking forward to flirting and having fun. During joint training, the German and Hungarian athletes soon grow close, and the boys and girls begin to mingle. Swimming coach Sigi has his hands full trying to keep his star swimmers focused on the competition rather than the bedroom.
