Three men confront the pressures of hair loss as low-cost hair tourism in Turkey offers a new option.

The story

Juanjo, Sebas, and Rayco each face hair loss in a different way. Rayco, a reggaeton singer, worries that his receding hairline could mean fewer followers and concerts. Juanjo, a man in his forties, wore his baldness with dignity, but his wife Inma believes being married to a bald man makes her look older. Sebas hides his baldness with a natural-hair toupee, which has to compete with the hair of his ex-wife’s new partner, whom his daughters are starting to call Dad. As low-cost hair tourism in Turkey makes a solution accessible to more men, the three set out on an adventure.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Going bald is still traumatic for many men. Nobody likes losing their hair, especially in a world where superficiality, image, and marketing are all the rage. Juanjo, Sebas, and Rayco are three among millions who show how alopecia brings not only hair loss, but also a loss of self-esteem, confidence, and even masculinity. Rayco is a reggaeton singer, and his hairline is receding more than the Corte Inglés department store. In the paradise of showing off, his hair problem could mean fewer followers and fewer concerts. Juanjo is a timid man in his forties who wore the bare patch on his head with dignity until he married Inma, a woman fond of cosmetic procedures, caught in a permanent midlife crisis, and convinced that being married to a bald man makes her look older than crow’s feet do. Unlike his friend Juanjo, Sebas has been hiding in the bald men’s closet ever since he discovered the natural-hair toupee. It’s a hairpiece that has to compete with the “great head of hair” of his ex-wife’s new partner, an Adonis whom his daughters are starting to call Dad. Although alopecia makes no distinction and knows no social class, the same cannot be said of its solutions. What was once unaffordable for many has been made accessible to everyone by Turkey’s low-cost hair tourism, making it the new manna for bald men. Juanjo, Sebas, and Rayco embark on an adventure in which they discover that their problem is not so much on top of their heads as inside them.
