A woman experiences the days surrounding her husband's death in a non-chronological order and attempts to save him from his impending doom.
The story
Homemaker Linda experiences the days surrounding her husband Jim's death in a non-chronological order. After being informed by a sheriff that Jim died in a car crash, Linda finds herself jumping through time, experiencing moments before and after the fatal accident. As she navigates these disjointed fragments of time, she realizes she is experiencing premonitions. She begins to piece together a calendar of events to understand the timeline and attempts to intervene in the sequence of events to save Jim from his impending doom.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Jim and Linda Hanson are married with two daughters, but their relationship is faltering. After being told Jim died in a car crash, Linda begins experiencing his death in a non-chronological order. She experiences Monday (two days before the crash), Friday (two days after), and Saturday (the day of the funeral). In these fragments, she encounters a mysterious woman, Claire Francis, and a doctor who suspects she is mentally unstable. On 'Tuesday,' she meets Claire and learns of an affair. On 'Sunday,' she tries to convince Jim to stay home and share his love for their daughters. On the actual 'Wednesday' of the accident, she reaches Jim by cell phone as he nears the site. Despite her efforts to get him to avert the accident, a fuel-tanker truck jackknifes and explodes, killing both drivers. The final scene shows Linda months later, pregnant, reflecting on the priest's words about faith.
