Full plot (contains spoilers)

Maja, 18, lives in Alingsås, Sweden. Her greatest and only dream is to become an actress. She wants to be in the spotlight, for everyone to see the beautiful person she is inside. It’s just a little hard to see. Maja is severely overweight, clumsy, and completely lacking in social skills. We follow Maja and her struggle to make her dreams come true during her final semester of high school. It is a comic portrayal with tragic elements, about the prejudices people face when they have the “wrong” appearance, and about finding the strength and self-esteem needed to truly be in the spotlight—but on one’s own terms.
