The story
During the off-season, young widow Vanessa lives in a villa near Carloforte on the island of San Pietro with her stepdaughters, Kikki and Vivi. She had married their father largely for his wealth, and after his death she decides to keep the girls with her. Vanessa also summons Roberto, a former lover who is now a professor, ostensibly to prepare Kikki and Vivi for their final exams. His arrival brings a tense atmosphere to the nearly deserted island villa, where its prisonlike feel reflects the mutual hostility between Vanessa and the girls.

In a villa near Carloforte, on the island of San Pietro, during the off-season, live Vanessa, a young widow, and her stepdaughters, Kikki and Vivi. The woman had married their father mainly because he was very wealthy. After her husband’s death, Vanessa decided to keep Kikki and Vivi with her and also summon Roberto, her former lover, now a professor, with the stated intention of preparing the two girls for their final exams. Shortly after his arrival, a tense atmosphere takes hold: the nearly deserted island and the villa, which seems almost like a luxury prison, make it immediately clear that the stepmother and stepdaughters hate and despise one another. It all culminates in Kikki and Vivi murdering their stepmother. In the end, the professor too, after being drugged, held prisoner, and constantly sexually provoked, is accidentally killed by the two girls. But in the final scene, it is revealed that it was all a dream of Kikki’s.
