The story
Belus, leader of a criminal gang, stages a fake break-in at a jeweler’s shop to test his members’ loyalty. He alerts the militia himself and watches from hiding to see which of his associates will inform. Inspectors Milde and Górny are working to catch the wily Belus and try to persuade a young man known as “Student” to cooperate.

The leader of a criminal gang, Belus (Zdzisław Rychter), stages a fake break-in at a jeweler’s shop to test the loyalty of its members. He himself alerts the militia and watches from hiding to see which of his buddies will squeal. The traitor turns out to be Bimber (Jerzy Górecki). From his testimony, the militia learns that the robbery was staged and that the real heist is still being planned. Inspectors Milde (Jerzy Kulej) and Górny (Jan Szczepański) try to persuade a young man known as “Student” (Ryszard Faron) to cooperate and do everything they can to catch the wily Belus.
