The story

In the near future, the Vietnam War is escalating, South Korea's capital of Seoul is under bombardment, and the Soviet Union is deploying their U-boats off the coast of Cuba. As a "preventive measure" against possible attacks and sabotages, President Richard Nixon enacts the groundwork for the McCarran Internal Security Act, a series of emergency laws, which include the detainment of individuals suspected of being civil rights, anti-war, or women's rights activists. People in these groups are rounded up and presented to tribunals, who are authorized to enforce harsh sentences.
