The story

Pui Wai is a 15-year-old girl living with her grandmother in Hong Kong who spends much of her time thinking about her family and her future, namely what country she'll be living in, or to whom she'll be married. One day, while walking through the city, she spots a twenty-something Japanese man fishing off the side of a bridge. She tells him that the bridge is not a good spot for fishing, claiming that the fish there are not only small, but taste awful.
