The story

A wealthy casino owner, hoping to please his partner, wants to give her the hotel, though Cervoise has no intention of selling. The buyer tries to negotiate the lowest possible price through dishonest methods, exploiting the friction between Cervoise and his employees. Full plot (contains spoilers)

In this comedy, Cervoise owns a hotel, which he runs by putting excessive pressure on the staff, including the manager, Joncard. To please his partner (played by Katia Tchenko), a wealthy casino owner (played by Gérard Hernandez) wants to give her the hotel, which is not for sale. To do so, he will negotiate the lowest price possible, including by resorting to dishonest methods that exploit tensions between the owner and the staff—particularly the manager, who loses all his money at the casino—so that the manager will sabotage the hotel by hiring a group of incompetents to do just that, leading to some hilarious gags. But then the suspense begins: which of the two— the hotel owner or the casino owner—ends up buying the other's establishment?
