A suburban housewife and her friend embark on a fraudulent coupon-selling scheme that leads to a federal investigation.

The story

Suburban housewife Connie Kaminski, a former Olympic racewalker, feels overlooked by her husband and society after suffering a miscarriage. She finds solace in her best friend JoJo, who is struggling with unemployment. After receiving a cereal coupon from a complaint letter, the two discover that companies habitually send coupons for free items. They travel to a factory in Mexico to enlist employees to send them unused coupons. The duo launches "Savvy Super Saver," a small business selling coupons for profit, but their operation attracts the attention of a determined loss prevention officer.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Connie Kaminski and JoJo Johnson start a coupon-selling business called "Savvy Super Saver" after discovering a loophole involving a factory in Mexico. Their account is frozen due to suspicious activity, leading them to contact a hacker, Tempe Tina, who suggests using JoJo's cosmetics brand to disguise the operation. While the women attempt to clean their money, loss prevention officer Ken Miller partners with U.S. postal inspector Simon Kilmurry to investigate. The authorities eventually arrest the pair. However, the companies they victimized press for leniency to avoid bad press, resulting in minimal prison time for both women. Despite losing most of their earnings, the pair keeps hundreds of thousands of dollars. JoJo moves to Montenegro with her new boyfriend, Earl, while Connie remains in the U.S. to restart the scam once she is released. It is revealed that Connie is now pregnant.
