Racheengel - Ein eiskalter Plan (2010)

Winter in Lübeck: Room service at a luxury hotel finds a guest dead in the bathtub. Detective Tina Campenhausen, who is married and has a daughter, begins investigating. She knows the dead man: he is Kurt von Brederstein, the former director of a residential school for troubled children. Tina grew up at the school, and von Brederstein had raped and sexually abused the children entrusted to his care. Tina keeps it from her colleagues that she knows von Brederstein. Suddenly, her sister Jenny appears. Tina and Jenny have not seen each other since childhood. Tina realizes that Jenny, who also grew up at the school and was abused, murdered von Brederstein in revenge, leaving her with a crisis of conscience. Jenny moves in with Tina and wins over Tina’s daughter and husband. The attractive woman begins an affair with Chris, a young detective who is Tina’s colleague. Tina feels she is losing control. She helps Jenny get rid of the evidence. When Chris slowly begins to suspect that Jenny and Tina may have been involved in the murder, Jenny kills him. Jenny directs suspicion toward her sister, since part of her revenge plan is to destroy her sister’s life. She blames Tina to a considerable extent for the suffering they endured at the children’s home, because she felt that her sister had abandoned her. When Tina is arrested on suspicion of murder, Jenny knocks Tina’s husband unconscious and abducts the daughter. Tina puts everything on the line: she overpowers her boss and pursues her sister. At a container port, she frees her daughter and confronts her sister, who gives up without a fight and suffers a psychological breakdown in her sister’s arms.
