The story
After a real estate agent is found murdered in a rural Maine home, detectives Tom and Dan begin an investigation into the victim's life and connections. The investigation takes a complex turn when a local man, Eli Phillips, emerges with accusations against the victim's family and hints at a larger, more sinister operation. As the detectives dig deeper, they uncover a web of secrets involving the victim's past and the suspicious activities of those surrounding her. The investigation forces the detectives to navigate a dangerous landscape of potential corruption and hidden motives as they try to uncover the truth behind the initial crime.

Will Grady finds his girlfriend, Summer Elswick, murdered in a rural Maine house. Detectives Tom and Dan begin investigating, and Will reveals a complicated history involving a man named Eli Phillips, whose family was displaced by the Gradys' real estate dealings. Eli accuses Will of murder but also provides a flash drive revealing that the Gradys were laundering drug money through a shell company called White Fish, with the assistance of a corrupt officer, Wally Finn. After a series of tense encounters and the discovery of a hidden car, Tom realizes the depth of the conspiracy. In a final confrontation, Tom faces off against both the corrupt officer and his accomplice, ultimately resulting in a violent standoff where he eliminates the conspirators while Will is apprehended by the FBI.
