Full plot (contains spoilers)
Alice and Matt Addison escape the Hive, but the outbreak spreads to Raccoon City. While the city is quarantined, Alice awakens in a hospital and meets Jill Valentine and Carlos Olivera. They are hunted by the Nemesis, a mutated supersoldier. Dr. Ashford contacts them via CCTV, offering a rescue for his daughter, Angela, in exchange for a location. The group discovers that the outbreak is caused by the T-virus. Alice eventually faces Nemesis, discovering he is actually Matt. After a battle, Nemesis is killed, and the survivors flee as a nuclear warhead detonates over the city. Alice is seemingly killed in the blast but later awakens in an Umbrella facility, revealing she has been enhanced by the T-virus and possesses psionic abilities.
