Alice must infiltrate a high-security facility to stop a global catastrophe while facing a deadly betrayal.
The story
In the aftermath of a global catastrophe, Alice awakens in a ruined White House following a betrayal by the powerful Albert Wesker. She is recruited by the Red Queen program to infiltrate the Hive, a massive facility beneath Raccoon City. The Umbrella Corporation possesses an airborne antivirus capable of eliminating the T-virus plague, but they are waiting for the world's remaining humans to be wiped out before releasing it. Knowing her own body carries the virus and her time is limited, Alice must navigate the dangerous facility and join forces with a group of survivors to secure the antidote and save what remains of humanity.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
The film explores the origins of the T-virus, created by Dr. James Marcus to save his daughter, Alicia, from progeria. After Marcus's death, his partner Dr. Alexander Isaacs takes over Umbrella. In the present, Alice is betrayed by Wesker and recruited by the Red Queen to enter the Hive. Inside, she meets survivors including Doc, Abigail, Christian, Cobalt, Razor, and Claire Redfield. They navigate the Hive while being hunted by mutated dogs and the forces of Umbrella. The Red Queen reveals she is using Alice to act against the corporation. As the group progresses, they discover that Doc is a spy and that the 'Isaacs' Alice previously fought was a clone. A confrontation occurs where Alice and Claire face the real, upgraded Isaacs. A truth is revealed: Alice is a clone of the original Alicia Marcus. During the climax, Alice defeats the Isaacs clones, and the real Isaacs is killed by a clone who believes it is the original. Alice escapes to the surface with the anti-virus, which she releases, purging the T-virus from her body and the surrounding area. The Red Queen uploads Alicia's memories into Alice, giving her a sense of self-identity. The film ends with Alice vowing to continue her mission against the undead as the anti-virus begins its slow spread across the planet.
