The story
Miranda Wells, a nurse in a small town, is preparing to move into a new home when she is brutally assaulted and raped by a man she mistakes for a date. Following the attack, she faces professional setbacks and the loss of her home's sale. She begins a correspondence with her attacker, William Finn, while he is incarcerated. As they begin to communicate and eventually meet, their relationship evolves from a simple exchange of letters into a complex and flirtatious dynamic, while Miranda navigates the aftermath of the trauma and the complications of her growing connection with the man who harmed her.

After being raped by a man named William Finn, Miranda Wells finds her life disrupted; her house is no longer for sale and she loses a promotion. She begins a correspondence with William in prison, which eventually leads to a flirtatious relationship. After his release, William arrives at her home under the guise of helping her. However, Miranda has been planning a calculated revenge. She poisons him with antifreeze, and when he awakens, he is bound in her basement. She reveals her plan, and he is subjected to a physical mutilation, including the amputation of a hand and a castration. The film ends with Miranda telling her father that William will not be coming around anymore.
