A murder investigation takes a strange turn when a detective uncovers evidence suggesting the victim may have come from another time.
The story
Detective Richard Lenders investigates a murder and enlists a team of particle physicists to help decipher complex formulas found on the victim. During the autopsy, Lenders and a colleague discover an implanted chip in the dead man’s head, raising the unsettling possibility that he may have come from another time. Before they can make sense of the evidence, another murder occurs, apparently following a similar pattern.

Detective Richard Lenders investigates a murder. In the course of the investigation, he meets a team of particle physicists who are supposed to help him decipher the complex formulas found on the victim. When Lenders and his colleague discover an implanted chip in the victim’s head during the autopsy, they are confronted with the absurd possibility that the dead man may have come from another time. Another murder takes place, apparently following a similar pattern.
