The story

In AD 1199, Robin Longstride is a war-weary archer in the army of King Richard the Lionheart. Following the King's death during a siege, Robin and his comrades escape and find themselves in a precarious position. To survive and return home, they assume the identities of fallen knights. Upon reaching England, Robin must navigate the complexities of the new regime under King John while hiding his true identity. He eventually finds himself in the town of Nottingham, where he must protect the interests of a local family while the kingdom faces looming threats from both internal corruption and a looming French invasion.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

In AD 1199, Robin Longstride, a veteran archer in King Richard's army, is captured after a tavern brawl. Following Richard's death in battle, Robin and his men escape, posing as fallen knights to return to England. Robin assumes the identity of Sir Robert of Loxley to deliver the King's crown. In Nottingham, he is tasked by the elderly Sir Walter to impersonate his son to protect the family lands. He meets Lady Marian, who initially treats him with suspicion. As tensions rise, a treacherous knight named Godfrey conspires with France to destabilize the kingdom. Robin eventually leads a coalition of northern barons to confront the French invasion at the coast. After defeating Godfrey and the French forces, King John declares Robin an outlaw for his actions. Robin and his men retreat to Sherwood Forest, where they live as outlaws, fighting for the rights of the common people.
