Full plot (contains spoilers)

Lord Robin of Loxley, an aristocrat and archer, is drafted into the Third Crusade but is branded a traitor after failing to stop the execution of prisoners. Upon returning to Nottingham, he discovers the Sheriff has seized his land and wealth. He teams up with Friar Tuck and Little John, a warrior who wants to end the Crusades. While posing as a playboy to hide his identity, Robin—now known as 'The Hood'—begins stealing the Sheriff's wealth. During a high-stakes party, Robin and his lover Marian discover the war is a ploy by the church to seize total power. After a series of skirmishes, Robin reveals his identity to the commoners and leads them in a battle against the Sheriff's forces. He eventually captures the Sheriff's fortune and, after a final confrontation where he is briefly captured, he and John escape to Sherwood Forest. Meanwhile, a vengeful Will, who was scarred in the battle, is appointed the new sheriff by the church, and Robin defiantly challenges him to follow him into the forest.
