After escaping a prison in Jerusalem, Robin of Locksley returns to England to find his father murdered and his land seized by the Sheriff of Nottingham. Amidst the conflict, Robin falls in love with Marian, the King's cousin. The Sheriff, advised by a witch named Mortianna, attempts to seize the throne and force a marriage with Marian. After a series of battles and the betrayal of his allies, Robin and his men infiltrate Nottingham Castle. They free the prisoners and spark a peasant revolt.
