Full plot (contains spoilers)
Totò, 40, is a Camorra boss with one love: a large tiger that lives in a big cage in his bedroom. Rosetta, meanwhile, is ten years old, attends elementary school, loves pink and classical dance, and is bullied by some street thugs. When Totò is shot in the chest, Rosetta sees what happens while she is swinging, falls off the swing, and hits her head. They both fall into comas, and when they wake up, they realize their bodies have been switched: Totò finds himself in Rosetta’s body, and vice versa. In Totò’s body, Rosetta returns the protection money to the town’s shopkeepers, including her florist father. Totò, meanwhile, manages to put the bullies who had been picking on the little girl in their place. In Totò’s body, Rosetta gets to dance with the other girls at the Madonna festival, while Totò, in Rosetta’s body, makes himself known to his right-hand man. After arguing with the girl’s father, he learns that her mother died of an illness. From a photograph, he recognizes his girlfriend—the only woman he had ever loved—who had left him because of his dishonest life without telling him she was expecting his child (a daughter, in fact: Rosetta). Totò’s killer, in collusion with the mayor, prepares to kill him again during the festival. And so, in the shootout, both Totò and Rosetta are hit and once again fall into comas. This time, Totò gives up his last breath of life to Rosetta, allowing her to come back to life. Rosetta returns to her old life... or almost! Parts of Totò resurface in Rosetta’s behavior.
