Following an assassination attempt on Chinese Ambassador Solon Han in Los Angeles, Chief Inspector Lee and Detective James Carter must protect the Ambassador's daughter, Soo Yung. The investigation takes them to Paris, where they encounter a variety of allies and enemies, including a French taxi driver and a burlesque performer named Geneviève.
