Full plot (contains spoilers)
India, in a bygone era. Saferndri, a snake dancer and daughter of a fortune-teller, has fallen in love with Anguli, a fellow countryman from a lower caste. One day, she is kidnapped by the powerful Maharaja of Jaipur, who wants her all to himself. Anguli tries to free the young woman, but is caught and imprisoned. Saferndri, however, manages to escape her own captivity. With the help of an impresario, who plans to train her at home and then have her perform in a show, she escapes to Europe. One day, Anguli, whom the Maharaja has released, follows her to the circus where she performs her act. By then, Saferndri has long since established herself as a major star. But the Maharaja has also been on her trail and kidnaps her again, this time taking her to a villa. This time, however, Anguli really does come to her aid and manages to neutralize the villainous ruler.
