The story
In 1975, writer Ben Mears returns to his former hometown of Jerusalem's Lot seeking inspiration for a new book. While establishing a relationship with a local woman, he becomes aware of a growing threat. The town's peace is disturbed by the arrival of a mysterious man who opens an antique store and moves into a house with a dark history. As a sinister presence begins to spread through the community, Ben must navigate the escalating danger of a vampire presence that threatens the lives of everyone in the small town.

In 1975, writer Ben Mears returns to Jerusalem's Lot for inspiration and begins a relationship with Susan Norton. Nearby, a man named Straker moves into the Marsten House with a hidden vampire, Kurt Barlow. After a series of attacks and deaths, the local population begins to turn into vampires. Ben, Susan, and others attempt to fight back, but the infection spreads rapidly. The story culminates at a local drive-in theater where the vampires are hiding. In a final confrontation, Ben and a young boy named Mark must face the vampire horde and the master, Barlow. Ben eventually kills the master and manages to save Mark, while the town is left decimated by the vampire plague.
