Full plot (contains spoilers)
In the 1950s, the four sisters Corinna, Carla, Constanze, and Christiane were stars of the schlager music scene as the “Altmark Sparrows.” Thirty years later, the siblings talk about the highlights of their careers on a TV show. Shortly afterward, the quartet receives a telegram saying that their father is dying. When they arrive at the hospital, their father tells the sisters some unpleasant truths, and they are confronted with lies in which their now-deceased mother also played a part. The sisters, too, have to realize that they are not honest with one another and that deep abysses lie beneath the façades.
