A calculating music manager’s carefully staged wedding plans are upended when he discovers he has a young son.

The story

Eddy Brennfleck, a calculating music manager, is struggling to keep his record label, Global Records, financially afloat. Hoping to boost sales, he proposes to singer Eloise in front of a large audience, expecting the publicity to help her new album. But Eddy has an undisclosed past: he fathered a son, Bobby, with Mona, a former hairdresser now raising the boy alone. When Mona learns of Eddy’s planned wedding, she anonymously sends dirty diapers to his office. Her friend believes Eddy should also provide child support, and another diaper reaches him. Fearing that Eloise will learn about Bobby and call off the wedding, Eddy begins searching for the child’s mother.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Eddy Brennfleck is a cool, calculating music manager. Although several gold records adorn his office, his label, “Global Records,” is in serious financial trouble. To turn things around, he plans his biggest coup yet. In front of a large audience, he proposes to the beautiful singer Eloise. Now her new album is sure to sell like crazy. But Eddy has no idea that he already has a son, Bobby, who is being raised by his single mother, Mona. The former hairdresser once had a one-night stand with Eddy, and now she is struggling to provide for the child conceived that night. Furious at the news of Eddy’s wedding, she anonymously sends Bobby’s stinky diapers to his office. For her, the matter is now closed. But Mona’s friend sees it differently: at the very least, Eddy could pay child support. So another stinky diaper is sent to Eddy’s office. At last, Eddy gets the message. He gets nervous: if Eloise finds out he already has a child, the upcoming wedding could be called off. So, together with his boss Möbius, he sets out to find the child, going through all his possible affairs from the past few years. It doesn’t take long before he finds Mona. He meets his son Bobby and is delighted. He and Mona also grow closer. He reconnects with ordinary life and is inspired by Mona’s fondness for simple, unpretentious things. This distracts him from the wedding preparations. Now he wants to produce a retro album on vinyl with the rockers Vincent and Trudy instead. Möbius is shocked by this, since “Global Records” is about sales figures, not self-fulfillment. Then, when Eloise also finds out about Bobby’s existence, nothing in Eddy’s life goes right anymore.
