Full plot (contains spoilers)
At a popular revue theater featuring numerous pop musicians and singers, the dress rehearsal for the next revue premiere is underway when the bailiff bursts in and tries to seize everything that can be turned into money. But the bookkeeper, Valenci, has planned ahead and prudently hidden the little money that remains inside the house illusionist’s magic box. Counterfeit money then enters the picture, and when everything is finally about to go under the hammer, it is Ferdinand Sander, the devoted admirer of Steffie von Beckessy, the revue theater’s director, who manages to buy it all back at the auction. The whole thing is accompanied by numerous hit songs from those years.
