Schule (2000)

Fifteen-year-old Sandra sends a greeting to her boyfriend Markus on a radio show, using his nickname, “Schnubbi.” Markus is angry with her because now his friends and even his teachers are making fun of him. Sandra still wants to meet him that evening, but Markus turns her down with an excuse. Stone, who was expelled from school after once hitting a teacher, takes advantage of the situation to make a move on Sandra. André, the daredevil of the group, has been cheating on his girlfriend Melanie (Sandra’s older sister) for some time, and now he gets his comeuppance when Melanie ends their relationship. André cannot get over it and now organizes the party by the lake with Markus. Meanwhile, Dirk, a friend of Markus, is under pressure because of his exams. In desperation, he asks the swot and outsider Michael Karbrüggen to help him cheat during the exam. Karbrüggen agrees on the condition that Dirk and Markus take him to the lake, where he can celebrate the start of the swimming season with plenty of alcohol and the traditional “lake smoking” of marijuana. So that evening Markus, Dirk, André, Steven, Nabil, and Sascha drive to the lake with Karbrüggen. There, he smokes weed for the first time and also has sex for the first time. Meanwhile, Sandra and Stone make plans to meet and drive to the school together during the night. Stone takes Sandra up to the roof to sleep with her. But she turns him down and spends the night alone in the building. Meanwhile, Markus realizes that he loves Sandra and goes looking for her. Stone, who is still on the school roof, tells him that Sandra must still be in the school. Markus breaks into the principal’s office. From there, he makes an announcement telling Sandra that he still loves her. He says he neglected her only because he wanted to spend time with his friends one more time before they all graduate and go their separate ways. The two then make up.
