Schwarze Nylons, wilde Engel (1976)

Somewhere in sunny Puerto Rico, private detective Al Pereira has seen much better days in his professional life. He needs more jobs, because his funds are nearly depleted. One day, he meets the opaque, mysterious Cynthia, who promises him a lucrative assignment. Pereira is to keep tabs on a notorious businessman and politician named Ramos, because Cynthia suspects he is cheating on her. Pereira is specifically supposed to take photographic evidence of his infidelity. It seems like an easy job to Pereira, and he gets to work. But the woman who hired him seems to be playing a double game and draws him into a murderous affair. At any rate, one day Pereira finds Ramos dead and now has the police on his case, suspecting him of killing the politician. Apparently, Pereira was the last person to see Ramos alive: he had photographed the cheater in flagrante delicto during lovemaking, then hurriedly slipped out of his house. To prove his innocence, Pereira goes with the investigating police inspector to Ramos’s widow, hoping to get her to confirm that she was the one who hired him. But Cynthia has no intention of clearing Pereira, because the widow is someone else entirely: standing before the two men is Olga Ramos, a woman completely unknown to Pereira, who nevertheless clears the private detective. Pereira cannot make heads or tails of the whole affair. Then, one day, he runs into his client Cynthia again. She works as a striptease dancer and begins casting her web around Pereira. He soon falls for the dark siren—but what game is the real widow playing?
