Full plot (contains spoilers)
Twenty-five years after the Woodsboro murders, Tara Carpenter is attacked by Ghostface and hospitalized. Her sister Sam, who has been experiencing hallucinations of her biological father, Billy Loomis, arrives with her boyfriend Richie. They join Tara's friends, including the twins Chad and Mindy. The group is warned by Dewey Riley and Gale Weathers about the return of Ghostface. Amidst the chaos, several members are killed, including Vince Schneider and Dewey. The survivors eventually gather at a house where the original massacre occurred. It is revealed that Richie and a girl named Amber are the killers, motivated by their obsession with the 'Stab' film series. They intended to frame Sam. In a final confrontation, Sam kills Richie after being guided by a hallucination of her father, and Tara shoots the injured Amber. The film ends with the survivors being treated at the hospital while Gale decides not to give the killers notoriety in her reporting.
