Full plot (contains spoilers)
Ian Lafferty, an unassuming 18-year-old, travels from Illinois to Tennessee with friends Lance and Felicia to meet 'Ms. Tasty,' a girl he met online. Their journey in a stolen 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge involves a series of mishaps: they encounter a hitchhiker, get their car fixed by an Amish man named Ezekiel, and attend a concert where Lance meets an Amish girl named Mary. After a detour involving a carnival and a stint in jail, they reach Knoxville. Ian's brother Rex finds them and, after Ian pretends to be gay, allows him to see Ms. Tasty. However, a setup leads to Ian being left in a donut costume while his car is stolen. He is eventually rescued by his friends and two other acquaintances, Andy and Randy. After a confrontation with Ms. Tasty's boyfriend, Bobby Jo, the truth about the car's location is revealed. In the aftermath, Lance decides to stay with Mary in the Amish community, while Ian and Felicia reconcile their feelings. The film concludes with a montage of their lives, including a wedding and a New Year's Eve celebration.
