The story
After her high school cuts the girls' soccer team, Viola Hastings dreams of playing for the North Carolina Tar Heels. When her coach and boyfriend refuse to let her play on the boys' team, she is left devastated. When her twin brother, Sebastian, is sent to a boarding school, Viola decides to take his place. She disguises herself as him to join the boys' team at Illyria Prep. To succeed, she must navigate the complexities of her new identity, manage her relationships with her teammates, and keep her secret from her mother and her brother's girlfriend while trying to prove she is a talented athlete.

Viola Hastings, a talented soccer player, is forced to pose as her twin brother Sebastian after he is sent to Illyria Prep. Disguised as a boy, she joins the boys' soccer team to prove her skills to her former coach and boyfriend. She becomes close with her teammates, including the captain Duke Orsino, and begins a complicated dynamic with a girl named Olivia. As the season progresses, she must juggle her secret identity while dealing with her mother's demands and a looming debutante ball. The tension peaks when the real Sebastian returns early, leading to a chaotic situation where both siblings are mistaken for one another during a game. After a public revelation of her true identity, Viola manages to win the game and ultimately finds a genuine connection with Duke, while the truth about her identity is revealed to the school.
