The story
In Munich, nine women and nine men seeking a partner or new girlfriend are introduced individually, with brief punchlines, in their work, home, or leisure settings. They then meet for speed-dating in a large, whitewashed room, where the women sit opposite the men and speak in pairs. Every five minutes, the host’s whistle signals a change. Through questions, the participants try to learn as much as possible about one another while presenting themselves as attractively as possible.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Set in Munich, the ensemble film introduces nine women and nine men looking for a partner or a new girlfriend. They are first introduced and characterized individually, in their work, home, or leisure settings, with brief punchlines. The longest part of the film takes place in a large, whitewashed room, where the women sit facing the men on the opposite side and talk to them in pairs. The speed-dating host whistles every five minutes to signal a change. Through various questions, the participants try to learn as much as possible about each other and to present themselves as attractive as possible. On a questionnaire, they mark whom they would like to meet again later. The final part of the film consists of these dates, which take place in different locations and have equally varied outcomes.
