Three aspiring filmmakers face an ethical dilemma when an immigration nonprofit offers them a lucrative documentary commission.

The story

Three young men with differing leanings share an anti-establishment past in the Italian left, a passion for cinema, and a desire to make their mark as filmmakers. Their small production company gets by making videos for social causes, trade unions, and weddings, while trying to uphold its ethical principles. They hope to make socially themed documentaries and travel for work. Then an immigration nonprofit offers them a substantial fee to make a documentary. When its head is implicated in money laundering and fraud against immigrants, the three must consider whether taking the commission would mean renouncing what they have always believed in.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

United by the same ideals and political convictions, three young men share a deeply ethical, anti-establishment past, having been active in the ranks of the Italian left, albeit with differing leanings. They also share the same dreams and a passion for cinema, but struggle to make a name for themselves in that world. They have founded a small production company that scrapes by making videos for social causes, trade unions, and even weddings, always trying to uphold their ethical principles. But their dreams are bigger: they want to make socially themed documentaries and travel the world for work. Suddenly, they receive an offer that could help them realize their dreams: a nonprofit organization working on immigration hires them to make a documentary, offering them a substantial fee. But the head of the organization turns out to be implicated in a money-laundering scandal and fraud against immigrants. The three young men therefore wonder whether they are willing to renounce everything they have always believed in for the sake of a good cause. A crisis is inevitable: Enrico, the most faithful to the political line, is determined to reject the offer; Fabrizio defers to the judgment of a tribunal and, in the meantime, sees the whole affair as an opportunity to make a name for himself. Stefano is torn between the two positions, without the strength to choose which side to take.
