Silk Road (2017)

To get the attention of Raymond, the taciturn boy next door, Dutch student Daphne hacks into his computer. Impressed by her skills, he offers her a job. After she passes his test—delivering a package to his partner, Sem—they let Daphne in on their business. On the darknet, Raymond and Sem sell drugs on the virtual black market Silk Road. The trio becomes the world’s biggest online drug dealer and attracts the attention of the narcotics squad. To minimize the risk, they need more intermediaries. Daphne recruits her fellow student Jimmy as a courier. During a major deal, they run into gangsters who kidnap Jimmy to extort the trio. Instead of paying the ransom, they hire a hitman on Silk Road to kill the kidnappers. After this incident, Sem quits and moves to France. Daphne and Raymond also go into hiding and begin a romantic relationship. Meanwhile, worried about Daphne’s safety, Jimmy goes to the police with her father. They track Sem down in France and offer him a deal to turn Daphne against Raymond. They take half of the Silk Road’s bitcoins and stage Sem’s death. When Daphne hears of Sem’s apparent death, she believes Raymond killed him in revenge for the loss of the bitcoins. She then informs on Raymond to the police, who arrest him in Venezuela. Afterwards, however, Daphne receives a call from Sem and realizes it was a setup. Daphne resumes the drug business and refines her techniques to evade the narcotics squad. She waits for Raymond to get out of prison.
