The story
The film follows a former deputy who, now working as a private investigator, attempts to end a malevolent deity's curse after encountering a family that has fallen victim to it. Meanwhile, a young boy is tormented by the ghosts of victims who once lived in the house where he now resides with his twin brother and mother. Full plot (contains spoilers)
Dylan Collins, his twin brother Zach, and their mother Courtney are hiding in a farmhouse after fleeing Courtney's abusive husband, Clint. Dylan suffers from nightmares of families being murdered and is haunted by ghost children who force him to watch films of their deaths. An ex-Deputy, now a private investigator, investigates murders linked to Bughuul and encounters the Collins family. He warns them about the deity, which is summoned through ritual sacrifice involving a murdered family, missing children, and specific artwork. As the situation escalates, Zach becomes violent and eventually lures the family into a trap. The ghost children help Zach, but the investigator intervenes, destroying the camera and breaking Bughuul's spell. Bughuul appears and kills Zach, and the survivors flee as the house burns. Later, the investigator finds a ham radio in his motel room, where the ghost children begin speaking to him before Bughuul appears.
