Carly begins a sexual relationship with Zeke Hawkins, while Jack Landsford stalks her, warning her that Zeke is 'sick' and noting that Zeke's deceased mother resembles Carly. Tensions escalate as Gus Hale dies in the shower and Vida Warren is murdered; police suspect Jack. Zeke eventually reveals he owns the building and has installed a comprehensive video surveillance system to spy on all tenants. Through one of Zeke's secret recordings, Carly learns that Jack killed Naomi in a crime of passion. Jack attacks Carly in her apartment, and she shoots him dead.
