The story
Twenty years after his father was murdered by mysterious pursuers, a young man known only as 'Snake Eyes' is discovered by a Yakuza boss in an underground fighting circuit. To gain the help needed to find his father's killer, he agrees to join the criminal's organization. However, he is soon tasked with a mission involving the Arashikage clan, an ancient ninja society. While navigating the treacherous politics of the clan and the looming threat of the terrorist organization Cobra, Snake Eyes must navigate a series of trials to prove his worth and uncover the truth of his past.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
After his father's death, a boy is forced into hiding and eventually takes the name 'Snake Eyes'. He is recruited by Yakuza boss Kenta Takamura to join his organization. During a mission, he meets Tommy, a member of the Arashikage ninja clan. To win the trust of the clan's leader, Sen, Snake Eyes undergoes three trials. He successfully completes them but is secretly working for Kenta to steal the 'Jewel of the Sun'. He eventually discovers that Kenta is allied with the terrorist organization Cobra. After being expelled from the clan for his deception, he steals the jewel and gives it to Kenta, who uses its power to destroy the dōjō. In the ensuing chaos, Kenta is defeated and trapped in an anaconda pit, where he is devoured. Snake Eyes is then offered a place in the G.I. Joe organization by Scarlett. Meanwhile, Tommy, betrayed by the circumstances, joins Cobra and takes the name 'Storm Shadow'.
