The story
Ben once played professional tennis, but a knee injury ended his ability to compete, leaving him to earn a living as a car salesman. He still regularly meets friends for badminton. One day, he encounters Linda, a cleaner at the sports hall, and the two spend a wild, lively night together. Ben hopes to see her again, but Linda suddenly disappears. He searches for her and eventually finds her, where she tells him that she has bipolar affective disorder. Her moods shift between euphoria and despondency, and the medication she receives has not produced the hoped-for effect.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Ben used to be a professional tennis player, but after a knee injury left him unable to compete in professional sports, he began earning a living as a car salesman. He still regularly meets his friends to play badminton. One day, Ben is approached by Linda, who works as a cleaner at the sports hall. He subsequently spends a wild, lively night with her. Ben wants to see Linda again, but just as suddenly as she entered his life, she disappears. Ben sets out to look for her, finds her again, and learns from her that she has a mental illness: Linda has bipolar affective disorder, which means she is manic-depressive. Because of her illness, Linda’s mood constantly shifts between euphoria and despondency. She is therefore receiving medication, but the drugs she is given do not have the hoped-for effect. Linda is repeatedly admitted to a psychiatric hospital for a time.
