A cheese race between two villages puts Solan’s confidence—and the Flåklypa home and workshop—on the line.
The story
Flåklypa and Slidre are set to settle which village is best in their traditional Cheese Race. Each team must safely transport a cheese from Slidre to Flåklypa, with three people on each side. The optimistic Solan Gundersen represents Flåklypa alongside Ludvig and Reodor Felgen. Convinced that victory is assured, Solan has secretly wagered Reodor’s workshop and the home they share. Their opponents include Slidre dairy manager Kleppvold, who is determined to win, as well as gorilla Emanuel Desperados and jester Olram Slåpen. Solan’s certainty may prove misplaced as the contest begins.

At last, it’s time to decide which village is the best: Flåklypa or Slidre. The event is the traditional Cheese Race, and the optimist Solan Gundersen (Kari-Ann Grønsund) represents Flåklypa. He is so sure of victory that, in secret, he has bet away both Reodor Felgen’s (Per Skjølsvik) workshop and the house they live in. Each team has a cheese that they must transport safely from Slidre to Flåklypa. There are three people on each team. So, naturally, Solan enters with Ludvig (Trond Høvik) and Reodor Felgen. But Slidre fields dairy manager Kleppvold (Fridtjov Såheim), who will do anything to win. He brings along the gorilla Emanuel Desperados (Steinar Sagen), as well as the jester Olram Slåpen (Bjarte Hjelmeland) from Bergen. Perhaps victory isn’t as certain as Solan thinks.
