A socially awkward thirty-year-old electrician falls sincerely for a wealthy tanning-salon owner twenty years his senior.
The story
Thirty-year-old Tommy still lives with his parents and struggles to get his life together, partly because he fears contact with women. Even his job at an electrical company staffed only by men cannot keep him from encountering them. An early assignment sends him to a tanning salon belonging to a large chain. Its owner, Susse, is a recently widowed, beautiful and wealthy woman who makes a strong impression on him. Though she is around twenty years older and far richer, Tommy’s attraction is sincere: he falls for Susse herself, not her money.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Tommy (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) is thirty years old, but still lives with his parents and can’t get his life together. His problem is his fear of contact with women. But they can’t be avoided for long, even when Tommy takes a job at an electrical company that employs only men. One of his first assignments takes him to a tanning salon. The salon is part of a genuine tanning empire. The chain is owned by Susse (Birthe Neumann), a recently widowed, beautiful woman who makes a strong impression on Tommy. Susse is a good twenty years older than him and incomparably richer. Contrary to those around him, the protagonist does not fall in love with the tanning queen’s millions, but with her. His feelings are entirely sincere.
