Full plot (contains spoilers)
Matt Taylor, an American schoolteacher, travels to Italy for his wedding but is left at the altar by his fiancée, Heather, who leaves a note saying she isn't ready for marriage. Since the honeymoon is prepaid, Matt decides to go alone. He is joined by two married couples—Julian and Megan, who have remarried three times, and Neil and Donna, a pair of therapists. During his travels, Matt meets Gia, a cafe owner and niece of Andrea Bocelli. They form a bond, and Gia takes him to a countryside villa. When Matt eventually reveals his situation to her, Gia is shocked. Later, Matt encounters Heather in a hotel; she explains that Gia actually helped her write the note to give her the space to leave. They reconcile their feelings and decide to move on separately. Matt sells his engagement ring to buy a motorcycle and returns to Gia's cafe, where he invites her to an Ed Sheeran concert. The film ends with a mid-credits scene showing Matt and Gia married in Italy, joined by the other couples.
