LeBron James must team up with the Looney Tunes to battle a rogue AI in a virtual world.
The story
In the present day, basketball star LeBron James and his sons are invited to Warner Bros. Studios. While his son Dom is interested in the studio's advanced AI, Al-G Rhythm, the system becomes self-aware and seeks recognition. Al-G lures LeBron and Dom into the studio's 'Serververse,' taking Dom prisoner. To rescue his son, LeBron is forced to form a basketball team with the Looney Tunes in 'Tune World.' He must compete against a team of digital avatars in a high-stakes game to win Dom's freedom and save the Looney Tunes from being deleted by the rogue artificial intelligence.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
The film begins with a flashback to 1998 where a young LeBron James is reprimanded for being unfocused during a game. In the present, LeBron and his sons are at Warner Bros. Studios. His son Dom, an aspiring developer, is fascinated by the AI, Al-G Rhythm. The AI becomes self-aware and traps them in the 'Serververse,' taking Dom hostage. LeBron enters 'Tune World' and teams up with Bugs Bunny to find and recruit the other Looney Tunes to form the Tune Squad. Meanwhile, Al-G creates the 'Goon Squad' using digital avatars of real basketball players, led by Dom. The game begins, and Al-G uses his power to turn the world into a digital landscape, abducting real people into the game. During the match, the Goon Squad takes a massive lead. LeBron eventually allows the Looney Tunes to use their 'cartoon physics' to turn the tide. After a moment of reconciliation with Dom, who joins the Tune Squad, the game reaches a climax. A bug in the game's code is triggered when Bugs Bunny performs a specific move, sacrificing himself to crash the system and defeat Al-G. The world is restored, and everyone is returned to the real world. One week later, LeBron allows Dom to attend a design camp and reunites with a still-alive Bugs Bunny, who decides to move in with the family.
